Computer Services
The company developed its own softwarethat runs under UNIX
operating system and operates on aHewlett-Packard RISC computer.
The company goal is to reduce transaction costs without sacrificing
customer service. EDI/EDX protocols for computer communication
with customers and vendors isexpanding. The company has more
than 100 customers on computer dial-up for plant inventory
replenishment while others utilize mailbox EDI or the Internet.
Export expertise
Turtle & Hughes has over 60 years experience in the export
marketplace, servicing domestic andoverseas users of American
electrical and industrial equipment in facilities overseas.
These customers are provided with quoting services, properly
marked containers, invoicing, and traffic coordinationservices.
ISO certification
The company has had a continuous quality improvement program
in place since 1991, with a goal ofbringing higher levels
of service to customers while upgrading performance company-wide.
The Houston and Texas City branch locations have gained 9002
certification, and preparation for ISO 9000is under way in
other locations as well.
